Staff Mass

Staff Mass

For staff members and volunteers, our conference officially began with Mass this morning. It was the votive Mass of the Sacred Heart.

As 3000+ teens and their chaperones were traveling to our first conference of 2015, we gathered at the Catholic Campus Ministry adjacent to the campus of Missouri State University.

Over 160 people were in attendance – priests, religious sisters, deacons, conference staff members, volunteers, and member of Franciscan LEAD. We gathered to pray for ourselves and for everyone who will be attending this weekend’s conference.

After the readings were proclaimed, Bishop Rice gave an awesome homily. After thanking all of us for being here, he encouraged us in our mission to bring the young people to Christ, since that is really what this whole conference is about. Our theme is “Limitless,” and when we are open to God’s plan, so are the possibilities in all of our lives!

Quotables

“We are part of something larger than the details of our individual lives; we are part of God’s plan.”

“God willing, it is our role to bring them (the young people) to Christ; that’s what it’s all about.”

“We reside in the heart of Jesus, and that’s where we want to bring the young people ~ so that they can experience the peace that comes from His Sacred Heart.”
