Humans of SteubySTL: Patti Anderson

If you stop by the bookstore, you may be lucky enough to encounter Patti Anderson, one of the smiling volunteers helping to sell all of the Pope paraphernalia and Marian merchandise.

When she is not ringing up graphic tees at Steubystl, Patti supports the Daughters of St. Paul as a volunteer at the Pauline Books & Media Bookstore in Crestwood, MO. Apparently, volunteering at bookstores is her thing!

Humans of SteubySTL – Meet the Interns!

We want to introduce you to the 2018 interns of the Office of Youth Ministry for the Archdiocese of St. Louis— Joe, Katie, Sam, and Chris.

These amazing humans work all summer to make sure that both of our conferences go as planned! They have, collectively, been to 18 Steubenville Conferences! They have gone as teens, young adults, youth minister interns, chaperones, ushers, seminarians, and now as interns.

Humans of SteubySTL: Archbishop Peter Wells

We are blessed to have Archbishop Peter Wells, pictured with his nieces, at the conference this weekend. Originally from the Archdiocese of Tulsa, he serves as the Apostolic Nuncio to Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa, and Swaziland.

Archbishop Wells explained that an Apostolic Nuncio is a two-fold job. That, since the Vatican is an independent state, he is an ambassador to Pope Francis on a political level. He also represents Pope Francis to the local bishops, and acts as the mouthpiece between Pope Francis and the local bishops, delivering messages and concerns between the two.

Humans of SteubySTL: Andrew and Angela

Andrew and Angela have been volunteering at SteubySTL for ten years. This summer, at both conferences, Andrew will be helping with prayer ministry and Angela will be in the nurse’s station; she secretly hopes she won’t need to see you there, but if you need any help, they’ll treat you right!

When Angela is not helping with this conference, she loves working (she claims to have the coolest job ever), running, yoga, and spending time with her husband and son. She’s a CRNA in real life, ran a half marathon less than a year after giving birth, actually enjoys the extreme level of nerd her husband is on, and secretly wishes she lived in Lothlorien.

Andrew enjoys his work for a tech startup, spending time with his wife and son, and finding some time at the end of the day for some gaming. He’s a huge nerd, mostly focused on technology and Star Wars, and he watches more content on Twitch and YouTube in a normal day than any human probably should.

Humans of SteubySTL: David and Rachel Leininger

David and Rachel Leininger have been married almost three years, with three kids in tow (one in Heaven, one at home, and one on the way), but that couldn’t stop them from making the trek to SteubySTL – David as part of the production crew, Rachel as a part of the speaking ministry team.

This is a place near and dear to their hearts. In fact, the first time they were ever in the same room was the JQH Arena, they just didn’t know it…
