Humans of SteubySTL: Jen Ryan

Jen Ryan is a Steubenville veteran who is joining our team this year as a counselor, and she will be available to those looking for someone to talk to. This is her first year in that role, but she has been a prayer minister and brought teens as their Youth Minister in the past. Her first conference was back in 2008. Jen currently serves as Pastoral Associate at Church of the Magdalen in St. Louis City. She loves reading, writing, and drinking coffee, and she was kind enough to answer some of our questions!

What is your favorite part of the weekend? Standing in line for Communion at Mass, being part of the great movement of the arena toward Jesus.

Do you have a favorite or funny memory from a past Steuby? One year when my husband and I were dating, we were both youth ministers over a Steubenville weekend. I serendipitously gave out Hershey kisses to people all over the conference so that random people kept approaching him and handing him kisses. He blushed every time, and he proposed later that year.

Do you have any advice for the youth to keep the spirit of Steuby year round?  Pray!

Are there any fun facts about yourself that you’d like to share with our readers? The skin is my favorite part of a kiwi. I eat it like an apple.
