Jesus was present with us this evening: Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. The Blessed Sacrament was carried in procession through the crowd of participants gathered to worship and praise our God. This is Jesus Christ. This is the one and only true refuge. The world has counterfeits, but nothing can compare to Jesus Himself.
It can be hard to trust that we are seen, known, and loved by God. But the humility of Jesus in the Eucharist is physical proof that God is with us. He wants to be close to us. God wants our hearts. He knows who we truly are, everything we have ever done, and all the mess that we try so desperately to keep hidden from the world. He sees all of it, and He still desires us.
Jesus is on your side. Romans 8:31 says, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” There is nothing that can stand against the love of Jesus. You can trust Him with your heart. You can take refuge in Him. He is here. He loves you.
