Vocations Call

This weekend we were joined by five Religious Sisters from three different communities and 30 priests from 19 different dioceses.

To the Women:

There’s something about the unique call of a religious sister that is so much deeper than what they do for the Church. It’s who they are as brides of Jesus. From before they were conceived, God knew their names and that He would be calling and fashioning them to be His bride on earth and in eternity.

What Should I Do?

  1. Go on dates with Jesus! Make an appointment to spend time with Him, and stick to it!
  2. Talk to a Sister or to your Vocations Director.
  3. Attend a Come and See weekend.

Remember, nothing freaks a person out more than the unknown. Get yourself some data about what the religious life is actually like!

To the Men:

If there was ever a time when a comfortable priesthood was a possibility, this is not it. The only kind of priesthood that can exist in our world today is a heroic priesthood. We need men who will say, “I will give up my life so that God’s kids can have life, set free from sin.”

What Should I Do?

  1. Don’t stop praying. Spend time with the Eucharist.
  2. Turn to Mary. Pray the rosary.
  3. Talk to the Vocations Director and visit the seminary.

Remember, pursue your vocation not because you know, but because you need to find out!
