Today, we go home to people we love. God has given us a memory, an experience, an encounter with Him this weekend, but that isn’t only meant for us. It’s meant for the people in our lives.
We go home to a battle against sin, temptation, self-doubt, guilt. There are wars in our relationships, schools, homes, and hearts. God called us here like a boot camp, preparing us to go home and fight for the people we love.
During the Battle of Hacksaw Ridge, a medic named Desmond Doss single handedly saved 75 men by running back into the battle and asking God, “Please Lord, help me save one more.”
The war that is being waged over the people we love is infinitely more violent, the enemy is infinitely more dangerous, and the stakes are infinitely higher. What are you going to do about it?
Are you willing to go home from this place and pray, sacrifice, witness to, and fight for the people you love? Your love, witness, and prayers can restore our culture. You can make a difference in the world in which we live.
Tips for Evangelization
Following the example of St. Paul speaking to the Athenians in Acts 17: 16 – 21, remember these tips.
- Speak with love and dignity, meeting people where they are.
- Just share your story authentically.
- Ask the Lord where He you wants you to go. You don’t have to save everyone.
- Don’t let your past stand in the way of sharing the Gospel. The Devil knows your name but calls you by your sin. Jesus knows your sin, but He calls you by your name.
