Natalie from LEAD: The Power of Friendship

Natalie from LEAD is a member of St. Mary’s Parish in Cape Girardeau, MO which is in the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau. This fall she will be a senior at Notre Dame High School.

Today she shared with us how God changed her life through friendship.

She grew up Catholic with very involved parents.

And yet, as she entered high school, she wanted to fit in and took on a negative attitude – and a big part of this was that she began gossiping about other people. This left her feeling empty and unloved.

Natalie told us, “Thankfully, God put three amazing girls in my theology class.” The influence of these three friends has made her life so much better!

Quotables

When I hung out with these girls I just felt so much joy and peace.

Instead of talking bad about people, we would talk about our dreams, our hopes, our fears, and our faith life with God.

A friendship that includes God is so much better than any other friendship.

I urge you all to go look for the people in your life who lead you to God.
