Marilyn from LEAD: The Sacrament of Reconciliation

Marilyn from LEAD is a member of Immaculate Conception of Dardenne (ICD) Parish in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. She went to high school at Timberland High School in Wentzville, MO and this fall she will be a freshman at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.  Tonight she shared with us how she has experienced the love of God through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

As a high school student, she went on a retreat with her parish, and while there she was filled with deep sorrow for her sins. She decided to go to Confession and felt a huge embrace from God – like a hug.

She experienced so much love in this amazing Sacrament:

God was not shaming me, He was not judging me, He was not yelling at me. He was so happy that I was even there.

Christ spoke to me through the priest and absolved me of all of my sins, and I was forgiven for everything that I have ever done in my life.

I felt pure, acknowledged, and known and loved like I have never felt from anyone else in my entire life.

I want to encourage you to go – to feel that love from the Holy Spirit and be fully forgiven.
