Listen as Abby, a student at Sacred Heart High School in Sedalia, MO and a LEAD participant, shares how she rediscovered God’s limitless love during Adoration at a Steubenville youth conference.
Leah began her talk tonight by telling us that the ministry team has been praying, throughout the conference, that everyone here will be able to understand – and enter into – God’s limitless love.
We live in a world where we can try to find our identity and validation from the world. Many of us long for likes, retweets, comments, and compliments. And, though these things aren’t necessarily evil, they can never speak the whole truth to us.
Sister Irene has been a professed Daughter of St. Paul (aka ‘The Media Nuns’) for 28 years. Born Mary Irene, she grew up in St. Louis at Assumption Parish in South County.
Before she joined the Daughters, she went to college to St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX on a basketball scholarship. During her senior year, she and another girl were co-captains, and were the only seniors on the team. Interestingly, they both became professed religious sisters. While the majority of conference attendees were enjoying entertainment with Fr. Leo, over 500 students & chaperones chose, instead, to attend a session focused on how to share faith with friends. Obviously, the teens & adults attending this presentation were serious about bringing the Gospel to their loved ones.
While acknowledging that sharing faith can be awkward, Jimmy asked the crowd a thought-provoking question, “If you had five minutes to share the Gospel with someone, what would you say?” Continue reading
